Slow Puppet Presents text-to-speech software

This video provides not only instructions on how to use text-to-speech software, but also explains visual processing disability and why someone would benefit from this technology. A deficiency in visual processing occurs when the brain has trouble understanding what the eyes see. It has nothing to do with vision. If a person is able to hear the text as well as see it, they have a much easier time processing the information. The video brings up a good point when it says that people with this disability are, more often than not, very good listeners. Text to speech software reads what is written, so the learner is seeing and hearing the words. If they see and hear the words at the same time, it strengthens their ability to connect written and spoken language. The demonstration was a bit confusing because it does not mention anything about buying the software. I was not aware that this technology is already installed in most computers.
